McCOYSBURG. The drouth still continues here and farmers are in great danger of heavy loss. Fires are burning east of here and doing much damage. Warner Hopkins visited the school last Friday. Mrs. Eldridge is now located in the Hotel and is doing a good busness. She is deserving of patronage as everything is new and clean and she is a good cook. Mr. McCoy was in the town Friday. He says “Dock Hemphill” positively must stay away from the girls here unless he means business. Another carload of sheep was received the 6th inst. Mr. Maxwell is going to move on a farm near Francesville. The community here will miss him and family in social circles and especially in the church. Mr. Joserand will come «n the place where Maxwell now is. Ask Mr. Gwin about Mr, McCoy’s courtesy toward the fair sex. There are 49 pupils on roll here now. It is very evident that a two room building is in demand here and probably one will be built before another school year. Mr. Brady still preaches for the church.
