Diphtheria at DeMotte.
Thursday’s Daily: The schools at DeMotte were closed today, on the account of an outbreak of diptheria. Tuesday a child of F. M. Hart’s went home from school sick with the disease and today there is a case in J. F. Bruner’s family. In his family there are also two other children that have sore • throats and it is feared they also are contracting the disease. The typhoid fever cases in DeMotte are all improving with prospects good for complete recovery.
On account of Chicago Day, tne Monon route will sell tickets from Rensselaer to Chicago and return, on Oct. 8 and 9 at $2:20 for the round trip. Return tickets good until Oct. 10.
Shirt waist stock at Nowels’ cash store will positively be closed out Saturday Oct. 9, regardless of cost.
