Large and Fragrant Onions.

Alf Donnelly has finished harvesting his phenomenal crop of onions, at his place a mile or two north of town, and has them all safely housed in a large onion house just built this season. He had five acres on his wonderful marsh land, and he estimates his crop at 3,000 bushels. The onions are large and dry, and the finest of the breed. On one small portion of his patch he sowed one pqupd of seed and got 250 bushels of onions. The yield there was at about the rate of 900 bushels to the acre.

Truly great is'the bnion-nf Jasper county and Alf Donnely is its prophet, let us hope also profit, for much hard and anything but pleasant work is invoved in raising and gathering such a crop of onions. The gathering of them especially has been a terror, owing to the vast quantities of dust that drifted over from the road and settled on the onion tops. Mr. Donnelly expects to sell the onions here to those who want them, and will ship the balance to the city, at the proper time.
