Heard From Again.
It is so long since anything had been heard from Col. Boone, of Knoxville, Tenn., and his Black Diamond railroad, that we had concluded it had joined the other dozen or two projected railroads through Jasper Co., that ended with being projected. But it seems the project is being actively agitated further down the line. For instance we notice that C. J. Williams, of Knoxville, Tenn , addressed a meeting at Versailles, Ripley Co., this state, last Monday night, in the interest of the road, and another meeting will be held next Monday night to consider the propriety of raising SIO,OOO for the preliminary work. As has heretofore been stated the proposed road is to take what is practically an air line from Savannah, Georgia, to Chicago, taking in Knoxville, Tenn., and Indianapolis this state, and not missing Rensselaer, not on your life. At least not if a little persuasion of the proper sort was forthcoming at the proper time.
