A Permanent Organization

Of the Old Settlers of Jasper County. A meeting was held in the court room Tuesday afternoon, for the purpose of effecting a permanent old settlers’ organization. The following officers were elected for the ensuing year. President, W. R. Nowels. Secretary, Chas. E. Mills. Treasurer, Lucius Strong. The Board of directors consists of nine members, including the three officers above mentioned, and the following; Simon Phillips, M. L. Spitler, W. W. Wishard, David Nowels, Jared Benjamin, and Simon P. Thompson. The next meeting will be held the second Saturday in September, 1898.
