The weather still continues Frank Lewis of the dredge spent Sunday with William Poisel near Medaryville. “Billy" is an ex-em-ployee of the dredge and the boys all enjoy calling on him. Jacob Kneadler's little daughter Oma who has been sick since last winter is slowly improving under Dr. Shwere’s care. The young people of this vicinity who attended the entertainment at Valina Saturday evening say (?) that they had a splendid time. O. Howard and Chas. Schwarts of Champaign county, 111., have been visiting for the past week at Owen Callahans. Captain John Dodd and family
and Miss Ella Bowman who has been spending the summer with them, started Friday morning f6r Carrol Co, where they will spend a few days Visiting Mrs. Dodd’s relatives Mrs. James Stevens is at Herscher Illinois called there by the serious illness of her mother. There was a party at Louis Burton's Saturday evening. Steve Porter is lying very low with consumption at the 1 ■ , , f uome of his cousin James Nowland. Harry Gifford and wife and Miss May Gifford drove to Remington last Friday. Miss May remained as she is engaged to teach in the graded school at that place for the ensuing year.
