WHEATFIELD. Schools begin next Monday the 13th. The Rathbone sisters gave an entertainment Saturday evening. All report a good time. George Stembel, and old Sam Hopkins mixed up in a little scrap one day last week. The school board is laying a new floor in the school house and making other needed improvements. E. T. Biggs’ baby is on the sick list. John Byers, of Burlington lowa, was visiting his brother, George, at this place last week. James Swisher’s team ran away one day last week, and ran in a wire fence, one horse got cut quite bad. Louie Poulsen, was attending county institute in Rensselaer last week. Miss Ora Vaughn of Winamac was in town last Friday. Albert Keen was in Rensselaer one day last week. A family by the name of Austin from Momence, 111., has moved in the Wesner propery on Bryon street. Mrs. L. Langdon and children returned home Tuesday, from •Owen County where they have been visiting for some time. Steve Hill was called to Lowell last Thursday to attend the funeral of his half brother. The post office will be moved in one of Sam Remleys rooms in the near future. Mrs. John Pinter and children are visiting at Crown Point. Mrs. P. E. Davis was taken dangerously sick one day last week, her life was despaired of for a few days but she is better at this writing. Charley Myers unexpectedly returned home from his hunting trip to North Dakota, he says they wouldn’t let him hunt there without paying license so he came home. Mrs. Neice of Lowell spent Sunday with her sister, Mrs. Kate Tinkham at this place. Mr. Lone, the engineer on the Hay Cur'er, moved his family here from North Judson, Saturday.
