ACCIDENT.
A boy about twelve years old was drowned at the river on Monday last, in the afternoon. Every exertion was made to recover the body; but owing to the na
ture of the ground, il.ey were unavailing , on Friday morning the body raised and was taken up. This should operate as a caution to parents how they permit thnir children to venture into the n.cr unaccompanied by fersons capable of taking care of them, t has often been a matter of surprise to us that more lives have not been lost among the children of this nlaec bv drowning. Go
I . to the river when you will, you can count dozens of children from six to twelve years of age, paddling round, in water ten and fifteen feet in depth we have not learned the name of the boy drowned, but understand he is the son of a stranger lately arrived in town. Palladium.
