He soon quit this, and started the butchering business. In this latter occupation, he done well he conducted himself in such a manner as to ohjain the confidence and support of a Jarge number of our citizens obtained credit, and made money. No one suspected Jiim of dishonesty. But in the end we were all disappointed; fir on Friday, the 23th of October, u!f. he. d-sappoar-ed from our town, leaving behind him a woman who passed for hu wife. and has not since been heard cf. He had contracted debts to a coividerahle amount, besides let ing several security debts to bo paid by his endorsers. It is supposed that he toot with him between 400 and NoOO. Said Cochran is about b feet 6 inches high, about 25 years of age, with r pleasant countenance, and would not be taken for a vogue by a stranger. He wento'd'hivjebted more or le-s to each of the undersigned; and we deem it our duty thus publicly to tcpose him as a swindler, and to warn others to beware of Jiim as sucli. P. S.
