draft an Address to the Editors of the several newspapers in this state, requesting them to devote weekly such
portion of their columns as they may deem expedient to the cause of Education.

sented the following resolution, which
was unanimously adopted:

present location of the Indiana Trm It
ers' Seminary, and commend ihe liber-
ility which the citizens of Rising Sun
have manifested in its support ; and that
we have entire conLidence in the abili
ties and industry of the Trustees of the institution, and believe that the progress
of Education in the West w ill be great
ly facilitated by its success, and therefore recommend it to the patronage of the friends of Education. The follow ing resolutions, oilercd and supported by remarks from Messrs. Uassett, Holman, Bartlelt, Twining, and P. James, were unanimously adopted : litsohtd, That the present slate of our country, and especially of the West, demands vigorous elloi ts lo raise ihe standard and extend the cause of general Education. Kc solved That in the opinion of this Society, the cause of Education will never advance as rapidly as it ought, until the ail of teaching be studied and followed as a profession. Readied, That there should be al least one Teachers Seminary established as soon as practicable in each Stale throughout the Union, the primary object of which shall be lo qualify professional tear hers of common shools.
