The people of London arc very busy on the subject of aiding Pailiamee.t in reforming the municipal abuses of the c ompanies and corporation of that city. ANOTHER SUICIDE. A Coroner's jury w as called this morning at 10 o'clock, to sit over the body of Mr. Robert Burleigh, who committed suicide at the Fulton House, this morning. said, and cnallenge the woild to show that tiie position is false. And these prejudices have already arrived at so high a degree of dangerous indiscretion, that w e could not consistently with

our callings pass them over in silence,

and be found slumbering at our posts while the enemy was at hand. But we have not yet done other duties remain to be discharged, of which we mean to acquit ourselves before we leave the subject. You w ell know, fellow citizens, that the freedom of the press has ever been held by the friends of liberty to be an indispensable requisite to its existence; and that to trammel the former were but to hang the latter and sweep the inestimable priviledges it confers from the fair face of the earth. With this sentiment we most cordially agree, and would do all in our power to preserve unshackled an engine so powerful in wielding the destinies of the nation. But while we would never consent to curtail public sentiment as (lowing through the press, we should be happy in seeing the latter more tenacious ol truth, and more zealous in preserving its primeval purity and usefulness that it may pass down with unsullied renown into llic hands of those w ho are to succeed us in the great field of human action. We say its primeval purity and usefulness. For, surely, the discovery

We say preserve the purity of the press and we would humbly make this appeal to those who hold its management and direct itsevery movement. Suffer it not to lose its pristine usefulness. Suffer it not to become the abased and degraded vehicle of foul vituperation and bitter invective.
