In anticipation of the future wants , of the company,' ypiir 'committee would suggest that the limitations of tbe charter be so made to extend, as to admit of the Company running over any or all streets that might be desirable in the future in the city. of Richmond, and the town of Centrrville and fuither, that the Company have the privilege., of .. us ing steam and of laying a double track, and adopting such , other measures as common prudence .may dictate, for your committee is impressed with the belief that the time, will come, and that at no distant day, when tins will become a wealthy and growing coiporation, and when it will be difficult to buy a dollar of this stock even at a higli premium, at which time parties whose interests may be antagonistic to that of the corporation will seek to curtail, its influence and cripple its franchise, As to tha feasibility of thi3 road j-our committee entirely agree. The grades are not difficult. ;The road bed is hard, smooth and easy to be adapted to track lavine. The direction and location of the turnpike is such that is confidently believed that there will be little or no obstruction to the running of cars in the winttr from snow and ice. When we consider that there arc not less than 25,000 people directly and indirectly inter eated in the construction of t!ie road, and note the wealth and luxury that ex ists on every hand, the feasibility of this enterprise can, not be questioned. In less than twelvg momhs every foot oi tuis roud f.-a-.i he built at.u put in per feet running order. , . . . The report then recounts , at length, the advantages accruing ' to the three classes intcrt3tcd,rviz: the citizens of Richmond; of Centreville;' and thos along the. line, and speaks iu glowing terms of the improvements which will speadily follow.'
