Schencka Palnaoaic Syrvp, Seaweed Ton ie and Mandrake Pills, will cure Coa sumption, Liver Complaint and Dyspepsia,' if taaen according to the directions. They are all three to ba taken at the same tiaae. They cleanse the stomacit, relax the liver, and put it to work, then the appetite becomes good; the food digests and makes good
blood; the patient begins to grow in flesh; the diseased mitter ripens in tho loogs, and the patient outgrows the disease and gate well. This is the only way to cure Consumption. '.''. '' 5 ;- ci To these three medicines, Dr. J. H. Scbenck.el Philadelphia, owes his unrivaled soceesa in thar treatment of Pulmonary Consumption.- The - Pulmonic Syrup ripens the morbid matter in the lungs, nature throws it off by an eaay expectoration, for when tbe phlegm or matter is ripe a alight cough will throw it off, and the patient haa rest and the lungs begin to heal. To do this, the Seaweed Tonic and Mandrake PUTa must be freely used to cleanse tbe stomach and liver, ao that the Pulmonic Syrup and the food will make good blood.; k '' - ,, '' Schenck's Mandrake Pills act upon the liver, removing all obstructions, relax the duets of the gall bladder, the bile starts freely and tbe liver is- soon relieved; the stools will show what the Pills ende. Nothing haa ever been invented except calomel (a deadly poison which ia very dangerous to use aaless with greatcare) tbat will unlock the gall bladder and start the secretions of the liver like Schenck's- Mandrake's Pills. Lirer Complaint is one of the most prominent causes of consumption. . . i Schenck'a Seaweed Tonic is a gentle stimulant and alterative, and the alkali in tho Seaweed, which thia preparation is made of, assists the stomach to throw out the gastrie juice to dissolve the food with tbe Pulmonic Syrup, and it is made into good blood without fermentation in tha stomach. , The great reason why physicians do not care Consumption is, they try to do too much; they give medicine to stop the coughs, to stop chills, to stop night sweats, hectic fever, and by ao doing they derange the whole digestive powers, locking up the secretions, and eventually the patient sinks and dies'. ' Dr. Scbenck, ia bis treatment, dries not try to- atop a cough, night sweats, chills or fever. Remove- the cause, and tbey win all atop of their own- accord. No one can be cured of Consumption, Lirer Complaint, Dyspepsia, Catarrh, Canker, Ulcerated Throat unless the liver and stomach ara made healthy. If a person bas consumption, of course the lungs, in some way, are diseased, either tubercles, abscesses, bronchial irritation, pleura adhesion, or the rungs are a mass of inflamation and fast decaying. In such cases what must be donef It ia not only tbe lungs that are wasting, bat it ia the whole body. The stomach and liver have loat their power to make . blood out of food. To Invalids and tho Public: Dr. A. M. French, formerly of Hew Yofli City, respectfully announces that he hss resumed practice, and will, for many years to come. Visit monthly nearly all of trie principal cities of the Union at stated periods for treatment of all forms of chronic disease. Having Jnst re turned from Europe where he bas for the past tbh tkars been devoting; his time exclusively to tbe treatment of patients in the principal hospitals in France. Kngland and Qermaay, be can assure the afflicted that in all chronic dis eases he can safely be relied upon. ' Amonr the chronic ailments which hs cores be would men tion the following ; J ' '" 7 ' All diseases of the Liver, usually called Liver Complaint, all affections of tbe Lungssuch as Consumption,(Joughs, Bronchitis, Loss of Voice, Sore Throat, Asthma, etc., etc ; Dyspepsia, or Sourness of the Stomach after meals, Spitting up of Food, Belching of Wind, Constipation o( the Bowels, Sick Headache, Neuralgia in every form, all affections of tbe Kidneys and Bladder, Rheumatism. Dropsies. Palpitation of tbe Heart, Epilepsy or Fits, Scrofula, all diseases of tbe Blood, Eruptions, Salt Rheum, Genet il Debility, Nervousness, and all diseases peculiar to the Female system. Having, as above stated, made all the above and Their kindred complaints along lite study. and baring seen, personally examined and trea ted successfully hundreds of cases amictea witn each variety of these diseases, Dr. French feels confident that in offering hia services to the afflicted world in this way, he is simply acting in the line of duty. He has no desire to be anything less than stbictlt bokoblablk with all who may seek bis aid, and will therefore still adhere to the rule he adopted in early life, never to flatter the sick and inspire hopes of recov ery, unless the case admits of no doubt in that respect. Many cases being ikccbable, and as he does not wish to pat any of this class to ex pense, be has devised a way in which bis opinion may be obtained1 free of charge. The par-1 ticulars- in regard t this will be given ander the head of "Waste of Time." All persons who may think of consulting Dr. French, should read Ibis whole column before calling on bint Krsonally, or making up tbeir minds what is -st for. them to do. The sick are so often dis appointed in their search for means of relief so often' flattered by the dishonest and inspired with hopes that were never realized 'that it is not a matter of wonder that they have in many instances grown sick at heart and yielded to despair. Dr. French wilt deal honorably with all, believing that always to be the best policy. ' His fees for treatment will be reasonable, and not be required from any patient until a cure is effected, and-his charge for medicines will be only what tbey cost him. His appointments are as follows: . NEW YORK CITY, the first day of each month. . , j , .- PHILADELPHIA, PENN, the second day , of each month-. ... B ALTI M ORE,. Tbe omission is unimportant, however, as all patients are required to write bint a letter before coming to see him aad m his reply tbe name of ttts- Hotel will be given. See the article below Headed 'Waste of- Time.'J , . : '. Dr. F.'s object iir making the foregoing visits is to afford all parsonw w 1 ess expensive means of treatment than if they were compelled to travel many hundreds of miles for that purpose. . ' - -r : -! . - There are only about TtrsBB-nrrHS of the cases of chronic disease that admit ' of fosittti and radical cobs. , One-half of the incurables can be,' under favorable circumstances, much benefitted, and-the- ether half only palliated. I am willing to- treat any case and do what I can for it, but it so happens that a very largt number of those patients whose complaints can not be wholly eradicated do not wish to under, go treatment. Now as my time at each point I visit is all needed in examining and treating tbe curable cases it would be a waste of time for me to bestow my attention upon those whom I cannot cure. ;':;-; : .. . . ' ' . . - ' . . To avoid this, and save the patient all unnecesjary trouble and expense, all are required to write to me and await my answer before callicg on meat any of the places I visit. Each per son so doing mast answer tbe following questions: -What ia yonr height, weight and age? How long have you been sick? Are you of temperate habits? ' What do physicians call your disease? Are your bowels usually costive r otherwise?. Is your complaint hereditary that is, have any ether members of your family so far back as you can trace, been afflicted in rhe same maimer as yon? Has emaciation (loss ef flesh) been gradually going en since you be. came aware of your present complaint? What is the condition of your mind? Are your thoughts and emotions generally of a dreary nature or the contrary? Have yen pains ef say kind? -If so, give their location, character, and degree of intensity as nearly as you can and the length or time you have had them. , ' ir A plain answer to the foregoing questions will enable me to determine at once whether tbe case is a curable one. t . t r' ! - i mAH, letters may be addressed to CLEVK LAND, O., as I have an agent there who will forward letters regularly by express, wherever I may be, so that they will never be delayed beyond a day or two on any occasion. :'' j .
