"Ex-meraber of Congress Kilgore, of Indiana, is here in connection with Dan Voorhees and Niblack, in reference to tlie Meredith Convention, which meets next week. Kilgore makes no secret that the object of the Convention is to defeat Judge Orth and Mr. Julian." The above paragraph is copied from the Washington specials of the Cincinnati Gazette, and we are assured by a gentleman who is on intimate terms w ith Judge Kilgore that it dees that gentleman gross injustice; that he wrent to Washington on private business, and his visit is in no way connected with the prn posed Johnson State Convention. We are sure that Judge Kilgore has enough reliance on himself to get along without the advice of Niblack or Voorhees, and that he would as soon be caught taking counsel of Forrester Basil Duke, on political topics, as from Voorhees. -We think that the Gazette correspondent has been imposed upon by those from whom he derived the story telegraphed to that paper. We have greatly mistaken the geatlemen whose names appear to tlie call for a Johnson State Convention, if they affiliate with Copperheads or apply to them for advice. Ind Journal.
