MoCLLAN'S LETTER. -Is it not cnrioti that such intense peace men as VaUandiyham, Ingcrsoll. Wood and Lmi'', do not raise n howl of del Uion at McCMan'a -war letter?"' No matter how uncertain may 1e McCIe'Ian's position, there can be no doubt in regard to the sentiments of the men who, to do them justice, have been consistent in the advocacy of Peace and a recognition vf the South. Yet they are not annoyed at JlcCJellan's letter, which contains war matter enough to serve these Coppcrlift'l with a Btock capital of abuse uuflicient to last fcix months - The reason of this is plain. PENDLETON'S RECORD. The following extract 1'iotii a speech made in Congress on the lth of January, 101, by Mr IVndU ton, the I)eincratic candidate for Vice l'rcidcnt, should awaken the attention of every loyal man : "My voice to day it for conciliation, my voice is for compromise, and it is but tlie echo of the voice of my constituents. I beg you, gentlemen, who with me represent t!e Northwest you who with me represent the State of Ohio you who witli mc represent tlie city of Cincinnati I ber you, gentlemen, to hear that voice, if you will not if you find conciliation impossible if your differences are so great that you cannot, or will not reconcile them then, gentlnien, lit the iSi'ceiliny Stuten deiart i ere, let them establish their Government and Empire, and workout their destiny according to the wisdom which God has given thcin." Further along in the same speech he nays : "If these Southern States cannot be reconciled, nnd, if you, gentlemen, can not find it in your hearts to grant their demands if they must leave the family mansion I would signalize their departure1 by tokens of love; I would bid them farewell ho tenderly that they would forever be touched by the recollection of it: nnd if, in tlie vicissitudes of their Hcparate. existence, they should desire to come together again in our common Government, there should be no pride to be humiliated, there should be no wound inflicted fivm my hand to be healed. They should come and be welcome to the place they now occupy. Who Wilt Vote for McClellan? There may be some pood, honest, Union men who will vote for McClellan. We do not say there will not. lint this we do s:y: Kvery traitor in the land, who is allowed to vote, will vote for McClellan that is, in the loyal States. Kvery. man who would sooner sec Jetf Davis President f the I'nited Kfates, than Abraham Lincoln, ivi'l rote for .f- Clfllnn for tlie man w hose want of ir'-neralship (or sympathy with the South) has done more for the reble cause aiil inoro ti establish the rcb!o 1'resident firmly iu his place at Uichmond than any other cause or influence in the country. Kvery man who sympathizes with "the S nitlf" unci hopes that the rebellion may not be put down or that the people of the South may not be "subjua'ed," will vote for McClellan, for he knows that tlie prospects of Southern independenc would be vastly improved under General McClellan J a 1'resident. Kvery man who agrees with Alec Lout of Cincinnati, that when the alternative is presented of "subjugation of the South or Southern independence and a dissolu tion of tlie I'nion, he is for the latter will vote for McClellan." Kvery Northern sympathizer with treason, who rejoice at the defeat, disasters and repulse of our noble Army of the Potomac, while under McClellan, will vote now for hint for President. Kvery man who i- for "stoppino; the war," no matter how nor what may be the consequence, will vote for McClellan. Kvery coward, who would sooner see the I'nion go to pieces and tlie Government destroyed, rattier than spill a drop of his cowardlv blood in defence of them, will vote for McClellan Every man who is ignorant enough to believe the lies of demagogues and trai tors that the South was forced into recession and rebellion by Northern Agression and the "Abolitionists," will vote for .McClellan. Every man in favor of negro slavery and who is willing to see that institution extended over the whole country, will vote for McClellan. Every New York city and Coles county rioter, will vote for McClellan. Every rogue, rioter and out law in the land, if he has a chance, will vote lor Meridian. Every man who believes the rebels arc in the riyht and the Government in the wrong, in the present sniggle, will vote tor McClellan. Iu short, every traitor, every friend of traitors, and over ympa, hizer with tlie slave holders" rebellion, will vote for the hero of the Chiekahominv. Poe any man doubt this? Of course not There are a great many igrorent men in thi- country and sonn- f-iols. but not a man so ignorant or so foolish as not to know ami believe that all we have said in the foregoing is true. Is a man therefore, who commands such votes, tit to be President of this Nation? All i't favor of an obsequious knuckling to .Tctf. Iavis will vote for McClellan; all in favor of "fliihting it out on this line, if it takes all summer." will vote for Abraham Lincoln. Union Ma33 Meeting at Gsnlreville.--There will be a muss meeting of the friends of the I'nion at Ccntreville on Saturday nevt, tlie 124th inst , commencing at one o'clock. In the list of speakers who will address the meeting we notice the names of Hon. I). E. Williamson, Gen. Col grove, ond Gen. S. F. Car'. A large crowd and an interesting time is anticipated. We see it announced that Ex-Gor Wright and O. W. Julian, will be present. This is a mistake. The former has an appointment on next Saturday, at Fillmore, Spencer co., whilst the latter speaks at Rosaville, Clinton co. , The Wayne County Fair, Commences on Tuesday next, 2'itli inst. and will close on Saturday. The Premium List is very liberal, and several attractions, amon which is the celebrated horse-tamer, Uarvy, is announced. We hope our farmers, horticulturists and merha lies, will turn out with the best specimens they have on hand and attend the Pair, aud make it the Pair of the season. Religious Notice. There will be a protracted meeting, at the Christian Church, in Henry Hall, commencing on Friday evening next, 'Sid inst, and continue over Lord's Day. Elder A. I. We had the pleasure of witnessing t'.ie unrolling of this splendid and truly lifelike Painting, executed by our fellowcitizen M.vut i s Motk, which is now to be exhibited for the first time to our citizens of this city and vicinity at Starr Hall, commencing on Tuesday night next, and continue through a series of evenings. There arc forty scenes, commencing with the formation of the world, when the Almighty said "Let there be light! ' and continues through the various conformations of land and water, and thoir adaptability to produce and sustain vegetable and animal life delineating the earliest Geological formations, and all the period successively, up to the condition of the earth as a habitation for man. In connection with the Geological scenes, it presents accurate views of specimens of fossil remains of tlie animal and vegetable life of each perio 1. The whole is designed to give an idea of the successive periods of creation, and the remarkable harmony between the history of these events, rex ealed by the rocks and the Holy Scriptures. It also gives scenes from the Mosaic account of the creation of man, with historical views of the deluge. Disconnected with the sublime events, it portrays with such vividness, and considered merely as a work of art, it will well repay any one for the sight, and we can freely recommend the "Panorama of the Course of Creation." to the liberal patronage of the People. Keep it before the People! That up to Feb. 1st, lGl. Eight Southern States seceded from the Union; that, up to Feb. Jotr. Davis, was elected and inaugurated President, nnd Alexander Stephens, elected and inaugurated Vice President ef the ?o called So'ithern Confederacy," and that all this was accomplished during the "Democratic administration of James Tjvch anas.
