Ilia regiment is yet at Murfreesboro.' The Captain looks well, as though soldiering agreed with him. He also re turns to his post the first of the week. We neglecte 1 to notice, last week, the arrival of Dr. W. T. Mendenhall, from Murfreesboro' where he has been for some time aa one of the hospital surgeons. He has been quite unwellf and looks thin; but a few days of nuiet rest at home, and he will be himself again. We are pained to learn that Oe . W. Ross, is ick at the Hospital of the Soldier's Home, at Indianapolis, and was not expected to lire yesterday. He baa the consumption. , a. No Licebsb. Tho impression has gono broal that those who operate Reapers, Mowers, and Thrashing Machines, are compelled to pay a license. We are authoriaed to say that any inditidual having any or all of the above named Machines, can use them for whom be pleases, without having to pay a cent for the piivilege. True, if he makes money by this busines. he pays an income tax like everybody else, and of course be would not object. Charles Petty, of co D, 19th Indiana, who was wounded at the battle of Chancellorsville, we are sorry to learn is dead: his body is expecied to arrive here to-day: He was a son of Mr. Daniel Petty of this city, and was a brave and true soldier, and fell fighting in defense of the Old Hag. The annual exhibi tion of the Richmond Horticultural Society, is now progressing at Starr Hall in this city. The general arrangement of the various fruits vegetables, and Sowers; is very tasteful, and the decorations are fine. We miss the pleasant face of our old friend Gardener Mendenhall, and his fine varieties of flowers, ice. The balance of our horticulturists and CoraculturlsU are pretty well represented. The Soldiers' Aid Society are furnishing the refreshments the profits arising from which go towards purchasing sanitary stores for our sick and wounded soldiers, after paying the rent of the halL This Society had a refreshment supper on Wednesday night last, and realised upwards of one hundred dollars from the sale of icecream, strawberries, cakes, bouquet), dec. The number of Fuchsias and other flowering plants, is quite large. The Strawberries are very fine. And just here, we return our beat noJ and thanks to our friend Irvin Reed, for a fine lut f very large and 'delicious Uovey's decidedly good. We are al ! ways willing to be convinced that any other va'riely of strawberry is the best provided we are permitted to test the article fairly.
