Horse stealing ia getting to be quite a common affair in this vicinity of late. Three weeks ago 3 hones belonging to Isaac M. Esteb of Boston township, were stolen and but one of them has been recovered. On Tuesday of last week a stranger came into this city with two fine horses, and offered them for sale at the stables of W. IL Dennett ; but either from suspicion or some other cause, he did not succeed in Tccling a sale, and passed on west making only a brief halt. In about two hou:s after he left, the owner of the horses came into the city from the east, stated that they had been stolen from him the night previous, and hearing of the thief, posted on in pursuit, with what success we have not learned. On Friday night last, two very fine horses were stolen from the stable of George Davidson, 2 miles south of this city, and in all probability will never be recovered, as Mr. Davidson is absent in the army, and tho thieves will bare ample opportunity to dispose of their booty unmolested. Mr. James Kndsley lost a fins younj horse in the same way the latter part of February last. There have been many other imlanees of this species of robbery brought to our notice in the last few months and we are convinced that a thoroughly organized band of operator, exist in this portion of Indiana, and that efforts at securing their apprehension have ' not already beei. . f tth 5-s in; thing but compi.m.niary to tne c.a with me duj oi i Toting out ana uetecting such high nan- ' , , " ' r o t .. . , P.
