The Court of Queen's Bench has decided that a marriage, solemnized on tbe high seas bj tbe captain of a ship, can only be looked upon as a contract per verba de yrtienti, or a conventual marriage and not sufficient to validate a later mariiago contracted with all proper religious ceremonies. Ba-GZHKRATiOH or Bona. It appears, from the experiments of a French Surgeon in tbe hospital of Bayeux, that bone ca i be regenerated. A man at Bayeux was token to tbe hospital with a compound fraclure of tbe leg, caused by crushing beneath a falling wall. Tbe tibia was literally ground beneath the shock, and the thigh crashed out of all shape or proportion. Amputation was impossible under the circumstance, and 21. Mottet resolved to reduce the fracture, to the best of his ability, and leave tbe rest to nature. Every care was bestowed upon the patient during the six months that ensued. At the end of that time a fragment of tbe tibia, of tbe length of twenty-five centimetres, was expulsed the largest, ac cording to M. Fleuren's report, ever yet rejected by tbe effort of nature. A few weeks after this, formation of a new bone became apparent, at first soft and yielding benenth the touch, but hardening by degrees, until it became as capable of resistance as its fellow. This regeneration was accomplished in another six months, but at the end of that time, tbe patient left the hospital perfectly (ured. having lotit not one line of bis height and walking without any limp. Akgrt Letters. An angry letter is much fiercer than an angry speech. There the words remain scorching, not to be explained away, not to be atoned for by a kiss not to be softened down by the word of love that may fallow so quickly upon spoken ange--. This at least should be a rule through the letter writing world, that no angry letter be posted till four and twenty hours blinl! have elapsed since it was written. We all know how absurd is that other rule of saying the alphabet wfcen you are angry. T.apli! Sit down and write your letter; write ii with all the venom in your power; spit wut your spleen at the fullest; it will do you good. You think you have been injured; say all that you can say with nil your poisoned eloquence, and gratify yourself by reading it while your temper is ttill hot. Then put it in your desk; and, as a matter of course. burn it belore breakfast tbe following morn- j ing. Believe me, you will then hare a' doible gratification. i FOR SATljf.
