We have beard it intim'el that it is ihe intention of the city school Trustees to open the free schools on the first of September. It is to be hoped they will however postpone the opening un til at least to the middle of November. Tiie County Fair, the Yearly Meeting', the State and Presidential elections will take place withiu the next two months and will create an excitement which will interfere with the attendance of the pupils. The Trustees we are informed are actively engaged in making the nece-sary preparations to accommodate all the children in the city engaging the necessary school rooms the employment of teachers, &o. We have full confidence in the Trustees. They are energetic and faithful in the discharge of their duties, but we simply suggest the postponement for their consideration.
