The Brushes shown were from the establish- i ment of D. Wilson & Son, of this city. These ! gentlemen are doing quite an extensive business in the manufacturing line, and ehould receive the j patronage of merchants and others, instead of j KAnriimr east for articles made bv them. For I - p - durability they are not excelled east or west, and are made in a style of neatness equal to the demand. The Tin ware exhibited by Messrs. Lafevre A. Underwood of ibis city vas worthy the best workmen that ever flourished in the palmiest day of the "tin trade" of old Connecticut. The Cooking and other stoves brought upon the ground by the same were gotten up in good style and the most approved patterns. They keep a . rr , . most extensive assortment, ana we invito me tention of purchasers to their establishment. Miss Martha Sultzer exhibited some very fine SiixllWork, and received the premium. It is

It is no less a crime than a cold blooded murder of a young boy, by a burly u.n in the streets, of Covington, in broad day-light. We visited our sister city this morning" to learn the particulars of this horrible affair, and from the Sheriff of the county we were informed that as Dear as the facts are known, they are substantially as follows: - Yesterday afternoon about 5 o'clock. Samuel (aged about eleven years) soncf Tiiadford Easton. a highly respectable citizen of Covington, was returning from school in company with a number of his mates, and on the way were playing "shiny." When near the comer of Sixth and Craig streets, a quarrel, from some slight cause, commenced between the school children and a German lad whom they met. On seeing the altercation, a Uc Germarr named Fortman who reridM ia that locality came out and com-
