A good, f(fat.—The Democrat proposes to so amend the of the United States as to dispense with electors, and perfcit tho people to vote directly for President end Vice President; and, further, thfit, ell questions of hcquiition of territory, either flree or stove, shall be submitted to a vote of the people. If it were not for opening up the constitution to other amendments, wo should be pleased to see the above suggestions carried out; but our experience in Indiana, is, that it is better to endure ordinary wrongs, rather than permit the perpetration of greater wrongs by the amendment of the organic law. Tbe present constitution of Indiana is much more objectionable than the old one, and legislation under it, ia still more odious. The people begin to leant something in regard to the legislation of last winter. One term of tho Court of Common Pleas, and particularly the Probate department of it, will open tbe eyes of a few. The common School law will awaken a few more—the Free Bonking low will stir up some other*.— But the othoOl of osperience Is now open.
