Songs for tfu million, ft* Loootooo iMtood Ownntten. To Baltimore the Leeds weiit, Du duh, du dab, To nominate a President, Oh <l.e do dab day; They brought six horses to the test, Du dab, du dfch, To see which one would ride the best, Oh de du dah day. Cuohvs— "W . Then here's to General JScott, The hero bold anil free, Weil piece him in the President's chair, The People's Nominee. Old Cass came first upon the track, Du dah, du dah. But Douglas laid him on his bach, Oh de du dah day, Buchanan next came in the bath, Du dab, du dab, And Marcy With his breeches petched, Oh de du dah day. Cuoaes. For four long days they held the field, Each one resolved to never yield, When suddenly was heard a groan, These men we fear are too well known. Cnoims — . They battled long they battled loud, To find the men in all their croud; v Bat none wee found to q uell their fears, Till they heard the name of Gen. Fierce. Chorus.— ' This mighty General it is said, The baggage train has sometimes led, When he brought them up, the foe to quell He fainted and from his horse he fell. Chorus.— Then join our ranks, come one and all, And help to toll the true Whig ball, We’ll chase the Locus over the plain, With the hero bold of Lundy’s Lane. Chorus.— V- - ;l ‘ •< The battle we are sure to. win. Old Fuss and Feather* must come in, The Locos will find out too soon, That he is yet that same old coon. Ciiorus.— And When he gets to Washington; The glorious victory will be won, The Locos there will round hUu stoop, To see him take his plate of soup. Chorus.-* SCOTT AND GRAHAM. Tuwe— I "Dearest Mae." In Baltimore the Whigs agreed Upon their Candidate, And mean that he shall be the man To guide the Ship of State: He bears & name that is without A blemish or a spot— A patriot; hero, statesman, sage— Who else but Winfield Scott. Hurrah! Hurrah! Hurrah! For Scott, the brave and true, Who never lost a fight. Nor willjie loose it now! Two Generals are in the field, Frank Pierce and Winfield Scott— Some think that Frank’s a fighting man, And some think he ia not — Tissaid that when in Mexico, While loading on his force, He took a sudden fainting fit, And tumbled off his horse. Hurrah! Hurrah! Hurrah! For Winfield the undaunted, Who never bn a battle-field Surrenderd, fled or fainted! Bat gallant Scott has made his mark On many a bloody plain, And patriots hearts beat high to greet The Chief of Lundy’s Lane: And Chippewa’s classic ground, Our British neighbours know, And ifyou’d hear of latter deeds, Go ask ia Mexico. Hurrah! Hurrah! Hurrah! For Scott and Graham true; They are the boys to lead the fight, The boys to win it too! Now. boys, we’ll go the nominee, And wipe out Pierce and King; From Maine to California We'll make the welkin ring. We’ll give the Locos good Scott “soup,” Os which so much we’ve read, And if they should’nt like the soup, We’ll give them Graham bread! Hurrah! Hurrah! Hurrah! When e’er the chance permits, With warm Scott soup and Graham bread, We’ll give the Locos fits. Then let us enter on the fight. Our case is just and high; Let’s us show our foes the “fuss” w# raise, Will make the “feathers” fly. The gallant Scott, who leads the van, Is honest, faithful, true; And he’s got the people’s heart; So we would say —tonal say yous Hurrah! Hurrah! Hurrah! iWScott, the brave and true! He’s got the honest people’s hbjkt, So we say— what sav vou? Our noble Scott never failed, Where ever he might be; On Cerro Gordo’s blood stained heights; Or in diplomacy. Ha clamed the angry border feuds Upon our Northren line, And caused whare War’s black cloud arose The Star of Peace to shine. Hurrah! Hurrah! Hurrah! For Scott the brave and true. The man who never lost a field, Will win this field for yett! The Lofocos brag and boast, And show themslves quite fierce, Tbo’ all the capital they have Is General Frank Pierce: A men dug up when all was lost, Buchanan, Douglas, Case; A sort of “Compromise” between A race-horse end an ass. Hurrah! Hurrah! Hurrah! For Scott the brave end true Who never faints on battle fields, But fights his battles through! Then, boys, hurrah for Winfield Scott, Who leads the greet Whig Troop, And only takes whet duty calls -A hastt plate of soup'" Who never counts his enemies. And never knows a fear. But gives Me foes a raking fire, In front and “in the rear” Hurrah! Harralft Hurrah! Ac. Now if you’ll work yon gallant Whigs, For Scott and Wills Graham, We'll only lot the Locos tell The piece where we shall lay ’em And when the “fainting” Pierce boys talk Os “feathers” day end night, Jbst let them know in Scott’s war-hat There ia not a feather white. Hurrah! Hurrah! Hurrah! For Scott and Graham true, They are the boys to lend the fight. - The boys to win it too!
