We intend at the close of the present,
each succeeding volume, to forward to such ot
mar subscribers, as may be in arrears at that time,
a bill of their delinquencies. However, we hope that we will be prevented from sending many, by
the payment of subscriptions before the first of
January. . We know that it is nothing but ne

any time, if thought of. Since the enlargement
our sheet, our expenses are at least double what
they were in the publication of the former size,
and the price remains the same. But necessity
will compel us to exact in every instance the full terms as published. Three dollars will invariably
be charged for one volume, if not paid until after
the expiration of the same. " The following gen

the pertinacity of this royal etiquette, and re
fusing poz to put on tne unuorm, avowing mm self to be ademoCvM of the first water, and expressing some appretnsion that it might impair his Dooularitv at home. The Emperor, however,
i gave him another invite for hc following Sunday, when it is expected he aDoeare! in uniform. Mr.
D. should remember the old adagtf, "when in Rome to do as the Romans do." Appropof des bottes, it is rather too much the case with c;u citizens generally on foreign missions, to exhibit s want of politeness and courtesy in conforming ta the customs of the country at which they are accredited, and that to form mere popularity hunting
at home. While a foreign Minister in his negotiations should never loose sight of the honor and interests of his country, his deportment and bearing should ever be in conformity with the practice
t of others of equal rank at the same Court, and
instance be conspicuous for a departure the customs and usages of the eountry.
Any thing that impairs the popularity of the Minister abroad, diminishes his power to render his own country the services required of him. N.Y.Star.
