MAarLAND. Four of the nineteen "recusant electors, of the Senate in Maryland have entered the college and performed their duty. Public opnion, most emphatically exDressed, directed them to this course. The
revolutionary movement contemplated, by
these partisans of Van Buren has found no
favor with the people of Maryland. They
could not be persuaded that the way to re
form was to lead over a violated Constitution they could not believe that it was safe first
to break up their present iovernmeni, ana trust to the tender mercies' of their self-constituted guardians for a better. They resolved to preserve what they possessed, until the manner in which present abuses were to be reformed should be presented in a constitutional manner for them to accept or refuse. They want to know before-hand, how reform is to be effected, and if they approve the plan then they think it will be time enough to do away with the regulations, under which they have lived for half a century. try experiments, 1 procured tour small tubes
and introduced them into the teats of one of
my father's cows. The milk flowed freely.
and the cow was speedily milked, without any exertion. My father, fortunately, objected to the trying of the experiment upon any other cow until the effect should be observed.
Within one week the animal thus milked be

on the alert, anticipating a display similar to
that of 1834: "The 'meteoric showrr was noticed this morning, but was far inferior to what was
described on former occasions. At half past
three, there were a few light cloud in the south-east, from which flashes of lightning were seen in a rapid succession the stars were brilliant, occasionally obscured, in part, by thin floating vapor. At 18 minute before four o'clock, a large meteor darted from the north, it was quite luminous, and in size
apparently equal to one-halt the lull moon.
This was succeeded by many smaller meteors; and 23 were counted by me, during an hour and a half; several were seen by other per
