cf a State Bank in the general. I am at Iom I admit to determine. The
rincioaL tlie Kinc-obiection J have
beard urged is that it might he mis managed. Is thte a sufficient objec
tion? carry oat the principle and where will we find ourselves. We roost net have a governor, he might misconduct himself. Wc must not elect member to the legislature, they might mii-
' represent us, arc Are. vc. W e might
have a state Hank and it might be mis
managed. But is there any more danger of men whom we select for their integrity and ability (known to u) to tannage such an institution, than there is of strangers mismanaging tfir. foreign local individual Banks, with tskose trash we will soon be inundated. The idea is absurd. Admit the individual local Banks will be well managed. Is there not as much integrity and ability in our population, as in the population of other states? The idea is unworthy an inhabitant of the Iloosher state. Why right mc not as well then, have the convenience nnd profits of Banking
Institutions as to eschew them forstran gersX
Our circulating medium now is too
scanty (o supply our wants. And stfci as it is, zee pay an interest for it to sir an gert. We take their paper with dis
trust, and pay them an interest, a bonus
for cur fears, roi every dollar in paper money now in circulation in this. State, the Bank that issued it receives an interest. Siockholdcrs of Banks in
other states derive u profit therefrom,
whilst thcie is no earthly objection to onr pocketing that profit ourselves. There m iy be oinc objections made as I before stated, to the details of the Bank Bill. Some ohj.-ct (and honestly too, no doubt,) to pledging the faith of the state for the redemption of the Bills issued. But this is no objection to me. Such a vie dec would ei ve con-1
fidence in the institution; it would give
an acre of ground, seventy-four bushels
and three pecks of Oats. The average
Height 01 the plants, at the time of harvest, was five feet four inches. Phil. Gazrtte.

General Jackson' letter, respecting the Bank of the U. S. and the I'ubiic Deposits, fills much space, and has been some days the only subject of conversation in our city. The President declares his determination to transfer tbe deposits, with all convenient despatch, to State Bank; and takes upon
himself the whole responsibility, while he asks the special attention of the Secretary of the Treasury to hi reasons for the measure. The Secretary of the Treasury, we may presume, is distinguished from the President's other official advisers, because the Lnw requires him to communicate with Congress on this subject.
tor the accommodation of the m.tny who abhor long political papers no
