The increase of members in the Baltimore and Philadelphia Conferences of the Methodist Episcopal Church, during the late Conference yer, was eleven thousand,twohundred and seventy. of London, half that are born live only 21 years'! Among the Quakers, one in

eral pr pulation of London, only one in forty. Never did a more powerful

argument support the practice of temperance.
