PREBLE DEMOCRACY TO HEAR C.V.TRUAX spfak at RAnnurr

EATON', O., Feb. 7. State Agricultural Director Charles V. Truax is an assured speaker for the Jackson day banquet to be etaged here Thursday night in the state armory by the Democracy of Preble county, the banquet speakers'- committee announces. Mason Douglass, Dayton attorney, will be a guest and speaker. It is probable they vrill be the only men to give addresses at the dinner. The sub-committees in charge of arranging details of the dinner have practically finished their work and everything is in Teadiness for the affair. The doors of the armory will be opened at 6 o'clock and the guests will be assigned places at the tables as they arrive. Serving of the dinner will begin at 6:30 o'clock. The menu calls for roast chicken and trimmin'3.

' Harry D. Collins, New Paris, chair

man of the county Democratic central

committee, will preside and present the after-dinner speakers. It will be

impossible to accommodate more than 500 persons. It is expected many party women will be present. Reports indicate there will not be enough tickets to supply all who want to attend the dinner. The tickets have been apportioned as nearly equal as possible to all sections of the county. A program of music presented by the Eaton City band with Earl Young as director and Mrs. Lucile Reel Pryor as soloist, promises to be a delightful feature of the affair. Motion of defendants for a new trial in the Mary C Fowble. will case was overruled here Tuesday by Judge W. W. Teegarden, of Greenville, in common pleas court. Decision was announced from the bench immediately after attorneys in the case had completed arguments on the motion for retrial. It is understood the case will be taken to the appellate court.

When William Guckian, Gasper township, farmer, was taken ill while serving on a Jury in common pleas court, it W3S agreed by the litigants That the trial be carried to a conclusion with 11 Jurors in the Jury box. Much of the testimony had been submitted when Juror Guckian was taken 111. Symptoms of his illness indicated an attack on influenza. The case on trial was that of the J. R. Watkins Co., remedv concern, against Andrew Wy. song, G. F. Scheid and C. A. Stephens. The suit involves $1,090, which the company alleged Wysong was indebted to it. Scheid and Stephens were sureties on a bond given by Wysong to the company, it was averred. The "trial started Monday and it was expected would be completed Wednesday and given to the jury. Judge Risinger presided. Juror Guckian was taken ill Tuesday. Mayor Harry L. That We Mav Hear

"Incline your ear, and come unto me; hear, and your soul shall live; and I will make an everlasting covenant with you." Isaiah 55-3.

CIENCE has proved that radio waves are around

and about us at all times. These waves are composed of elements which cannot be detected by the human ear without an instrument of transforma

tion. If it were not for this instrument, we would go through life without knowing that these sounds exist Many men go through life without any knowledge of the fundamental principles of life which have been established for our guidance. The ways of knowledge and truth are ever present but many never see the truth or understand, because they have not used the means through which this knowledge and truth may be received. , The ways of truth and knowledge are revealed to us through the teachings of Christ. The church is one of the means through which we may reach a better understanding of these principles, the application of which means contentment of mind and the satisfaction which comes to all who live a Christian life.
