HIGH STUDENTS GIVE : ENTERTAINING SHOW; PLAY AGAIN TONIGHT The first performance of "Frenzied Frolics of 1923" measured up to all expectations when It was presented to a capacity audience In the high school auditorium. Friday night. The performance will be repeated Saturday night at 8 o'clock. The orchestra, under the direction of Professor J. E. Maddy, opened the bin with a selection from "Pinafore." The musical revue headlines the bill with attractive costumes, syncopated
steps and Bongs, and the feature of ''the act, "The Jazz Band." Miss Rhea Pyle took honors for the evening by making a hit with her accordion num
bers. MIsa Pyle responded to two en
cores. Hiss Marguerite Cox put her
songs across with the audience, singing "Aggravatin' Papa" and "Carolina In the Morning." Miss Elma McKlsslck danced an Oriental dance. The costumes worn by the actors in this

Jay and Ryan gave an original ltne of comedy In their offering, "A Little Bit of Foolishness." Both were
dressed In the hobo garb. They sang several appropriate ditties. Versatile Offering Van Etten and Vice presented a versatile offering In a cartoon and song act. Van Etten proved his skill as a cartoonist hv drawing a number of prominent figures In the high school. Meloy and Pettibone were excellent black-face comedians. Mlkesell and Lanier offered an act entitled "Stage Struck," introducing offerings and singing a few peppy numbers. Davis, and Miller, two black face artists, gave the audience their money's worth of laughteT In their offering "Taint That" Davis makes a fine looking colored woman. " Gus ' Pfafflin proved his versatility by offering something new In the way of a tramp act Ills singing of the song "Moonshine," was well received. Longfellow and Ewing offered a novelty act giving selections on baspons, disguised as floor lamps. William Penery proved a bit with his eaxaphone solo. This act closed with a good initiation of a Scottish bagpipe by the two baasons and an oboe, played by Penery.

LOCAL FLORISTS WIN 3 SPECIAL PREMIUMS
v Besides the gold medal won on the "America" rose by the E. G. Hill company at the annual Rose Growers'convention In Cincinnati this week, three of the five Rookwood vases awarded as special premiums were won by Richmond florists. One went to the E. G. Hill company on the best vase of Premiers, another to the Joseph Hill company on the best general display, and the third was won by Fred Lemon on a new yellow rose which he has developed, called the "Amelia Gude." The E. G. Hill company also won a second prize on the 60 "Premier" display. The "America" which was the sensation of the show, is only being released
to the florists trade this spring, having
been introduced to growers by exhibition at a number of fairs and floral shows last fall and this winter. It is
a deep pink rose with the advantage of hardy growth in out-door gardens, and is expected by rose culturists, to
become a popular flower. The "Amelia Gude" is a yellow rose,
not unusual in 'appearance, but of es
pecial interest to florist because of fts commercial possibilitiese. It also is being introduced to the trade for the first time this spring. This rose produces blooms equal to most of the yellow roses, and in addition Is very easy of cultivation and an unusually profuse bloomer, furnishing greater quantities of roses than any other variety. E. G. Hill acted as toastmaster of a florists banquet Thursday evening.
