to feel the reverence with which they approached their work. Giotto's Madonnas have a sttiffness which is almost Egyptian, yet the majesty of their composition makes up for the rigidity of pose. One can imagine Fra Angelica painting serenely in his monastery lovingly putting in his delicate brush strokes with what abundance of careful detail. This Dominican monk, whose name is Deato Angelica da Friesola, approached his task with a single minded, patient spirit, applying himself in the full belief that painting was a sacred calling as well as a manual art.
The fourth, fifth and sixth grades had a surprise for the rooms downstairs Tuesday morning. They gathered in the hall and sung Christmas carols. The little folks enjoyed it so much, and when we were through singing, they sang for us. In the afternoon, we gave a concert for Miss Nusbaum, our music supervisor. She played two piano selections for us. Angela Crabb, reporter for Warner school.
