CO-OPERATIVE DAIRY MARKETING EXPLAINED AT FARMERS' MEETING (Special to The Palladium) CAMDEN, Ohio, Dec. 20. Explanation of co-operative dairy marketing, an account of the Chicago national form bureau convention, orchestral music and a hearty supper comprised the entertainment at the meeting of the Somers township branch of the Preble county farm bureau, Tuesday Eight. About 75 men, women and children attended the meeting, which was held in the high school building. I. M Wardlow of Spring Valley, Green conn ty, explained the organization and ac tivities of the Miami Valley Dairy Products selling agency, and an nounced that a committee meeting to consider the purchase of a receiving plant upon which a retail distributing system might be based, would be held in Dayton on "Wednesday He stated that the price of milk had been raised from a price 5 to 10 cents below Chi cago extra quotations, to a present price of three cents above after the formation of a co-operative agency. Ohio had 88 representatives at the national farmers' convention, said E. D. Turner, who was sent to represent Preble county. He told of the testimony given by many representatives, of the beneficial activities of the farm bureaus. Co-operative marketing had proven the salvation of the cotton growers of the south, of the Kentucky tobacco growers, of the Michigan apple producers, Maine potato producers and the dairymen of Minnesota, according to reports from those states. Suggests Extension In discussing possible activities of the farmers' association in Somers township, Mr. Turner suggested extension of the wheat seed improvement which already had resulted in the production of 2,498 bushels of improved seed in Somers township, of an average acre yield three bushels better than the ordinary varieties. He also suggested root rot control work in corn, elimination of the foul brood in bee hives, and the extension of the women and girls' canning and sewing club work, and of a township health project. Old officers of the association were re-elected to serve another year, as follows: W. E. Byers, president; C. E. Yost, secretary-treasurer, and Samuel Boomershine, vice-president. A supper of sandwiches, pickles, coffee and ice cream and cakes was served to all present. Beauty Chats By Edna Kent Forbes DO YOU LOOK HEALTHY The thoroughly healthy woman may not always be beautiful, but she will always be most attractive. She might have the worst features in the world, but she couldn't possibly be homely, and she would always be well liked. That's because there is a physical viality, a physical magnetism about health which attracts others equally healthy, as well as those who lack this divine gift. It is a divine gift, but It can be cul tivated by even the poorest mortal. Yet for some reason, few of ns try to cultivate good health in any systematic way. We take it for granted until act ual illness sends us to doctors and medicine bottles. It's so easy to get well by swallowing an unpleasant teaspoonful of something after each meal! Have you the bright eyes and clear skin of good health? Are you cheer ful, do you sleep well and do you wake refreshed? If you can not say yes to all of these, you are not in normal health, and you are not as pretty and as attractive as you ought to be, and can be. Change your diet to simpler foodsoften a gloomy view of life is only due to chocolate cake or roast pork! A bad complexion is surely due to something of the sort. - Go to bed an hour earlier than you generally do. Have all the windows wide open, and breathe deeply of the pure air before you even try to sleep. A hot drink and an amusing short story will help you drop off if you find sleeping hard. The chances are you'll have bright eyes in the morn ing, for that dull expression is often due to insomnia. ' Marionette While lanoline is an excellent flesh builder, it is not advisable to us,e a sa massage for the face, unless you are sure that you have no tendency to a superflous growth of hair.' If yon choose a cream niflde from fine almond oil you will find that It is nourishing and there will be no doubt about its encouraging the growth of hair. Kate L. After you have had more practice in dancing you will lose this awkwardness of movement. As soon as you can forget that you have muscles. and eet into the rhythm, the music will guide your motions and you will be relieved of your embarrassment.
