GREENVILLE MAN IS FINED; IMPERSONATES OFFICER AT DAYTON DAYTON", Ohio, Dec. 15. Charles
Owens, 2.6, of Greenville, who is sail to have impersonated a police officer, was fined $50 and costs In police court yesterday morning. Owene was arrested Tuesday nighf, after several complaints had been lodged at headquartrs that he represented himself as a police officer. Becker Held to Jury Mike Becker, 325 East Fifth street, who filed charges of assault and battery against five members of the polica liquor squad, Was bound over to the grand Jury under $?,000 bond when he was arraigned in police court yesterday for the third violation of the Crabbe act. Becker is the first man in the history of prohibition in this county to be held to a higher court for Crabbe
act violaions. The penalty for a third offense is a fine of $2,000 and a sen
tence of from one to five years in the penitentiary. Howard Heald, assistant city attor
ney, who represented liquor squad members in the assault case, had their hearings continued. The charges grow out of an alleged assault made the officers on Becker ar.d his wife during
a uquor raid on their place of business. Council Organizes

night and was attended by more than

tion of Mrs. Virginia Asher's work in Dayton. The meeting, which was held in Westminster church, was preceded
by a banquet.

ed two cents on quarts and pints. The present prices are, quarts, 12 cent3,
pints, seven cents, increased cost cf production and continued high prices
in other nearby cities are given as the
reasons for the raise.
