Mrs. Richard Study was hostess for one of the beautiful functions marking the festivities q the pre-holiday season when she entertained with a luncheon and bridge Thursday afternoon at the Country club. Lovel

f hades of yellow and orange were effectively combined in the decorations.1 French baskets of calendulas adorned the luncheon tables while the reception rooms of the clubhouse were decorated with baskets of calendulas ani chrysanthemums. Covers were laid for 60 persons. The out-of-town guests were Mrs. Charles Spiegel, of Shelbyville, Mrs. Paul Hutchinson, of Gary, Mrs. Judson R. Rupe, and Mrs. Willard Rupe, of Sturgeon, Mich., both formerly of this city. The Omicron PI Sigma fraternity will give its second dance of the preholiday season Friday evening, Dec. 15, at the I. O. O. F. hall. Sullivan's Happy Six of the Piqua Winter garden will play the program of dances. The balcony will be open to spectators. Dancing will be from 9. to 12 o'clock. "Seventeen," Booth Tarkington's ' popular play, Is to be given by the Mask and Mantel in the Liiidley hall , auditorium at Earlham college, Saturday evening. Tickets are on- sale at the Westcott Pharmacy, Three fancy dance3 In costume will be given by pupils of Miss Elizabeth Kolp as an added feature at the Eagles club Saturday afternoon when her classes meet from 2 to 4:30 o'clock. Merry Maid Minstrels. Katherine Meyers will dance a French minuet in costume and Lizetta Campbell wiU repeat the Jockey dance in which sl2 was presented in the Dance carnival given last spring by Miss Kolp, in which she presented her pupils. Mrs. Sylvia Smelser entertainedfthe Greenbriar Community club at its Christmas party Wednesday afternoon at her home on the Abington road. Twelve guests and 21 members attended. Mrs. Barbara Myers and Mrs. Mary Haas had charge of the enter-'-tainment. Gifts were exchanged and confections distributed among the guests by Santa Claus.
