REV. GEORGE J. SIXT
RESIGNS AS PASTOR OF EATON CHURCHES
EATON", Ohio, Doc. 14. The Rev. George J. Sixt has resigned as pastor of Grace and Zion Lutheran churches, after seven and one-half years service to become pastor of St John's Lutheran church in Marion. Ind from which point he also will supply Martin Luther church in Wabash, Ind. "Let George do it," 13 In a way applicable to the Joint pastorate of Grace and Zion churches, in that since organization of the two churches 3i5 years ago. the five ministers who have filled the pastorate have borne the Christian name of George, The first pastor was George Baughman, and the second was George Busby. Then George Baughman again became pastor. His successor was George Schmidt Next came George Weber and then George Sixt It Is understood the Rev. George J. Troutwtne of CircleviUe, is being considered as Mr. Sixt's successor. Zion church will held a congerssional meeting Sunday afternoon and Grace church will hold a similar meeting Sunday afternoon, at which time it is expected a pastor will be named. Mr. Sixt came to Eaton from Grove City, Pa., and he has done splendid work in the local field. His going to the Indiana churches Is considered as quite an advancement He expects to take up his work in his new charge the first of the coming year and early in the year he will remove his family to Marion. Mr; Sixt is a native of Middletown. John M. Wehrly, of West Manchester, chairman of the Preble county Republican central and executive committees, has been appointed a deputy state fire marshal, his territory embracing the counties of Preble, Montgomery, Darke, Clark, Miami and Greene. He has entered upon his duties.

Homsher's vital Statistics report for Preble county for the month of November shows there were 34 births and 19 deaths. Cancer caused five deaths, the most from any one disease. Miss Ruth O'Neill, Dixton township, won third place in the state clothing project last week in Columbus, according to a report on the results of the contest received, here at the office of County Agent E. D. Turner. Miss O'Neill was one of seven Preble county club work winners who won free trips to Columbtts. She is a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Everett O'Neill. County Agent E. D. Turner is in Chicago this week attending the sessions of the Ioternational Farm Bureau convention. He probably will return to Eaton Saturday. Roger Logae, Union County, Wins Medal in Contest LIBERTY, Ind., Dec. 14. Roger Logue of this county is one of the six bronze medal winners in the recent ton-litter contest conducted by the Indiana Livestock Breeders' association in co-operation with the Purdue authorities. Bronze medals were awarded to all farmers who succeeded in growing a litter of pigs to a weight between 1,600 and 1,800 pounds within six months. Medals will be awarded at Purdue on the occasion of the annual farmers' short course, it is announced. There were 32 gold medal winners whose litters exceeded a ton in weight and 17 who won silver medals with litters between 1,800 and 2,000 pounds in weight i

les Morris died Wednesdoy morning, at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Charles Gordon, Harrison avenue. Mr. Morris was born in Wayne county, Indiana, Oct. 27, 1843 and was 79 years
of age. His death was caused by
tfrignt s disease. He was a widower, his wife having passed away 15 years ago. He is survived by three sons and one daughter. The body will be taken to his old home in Cambridge City, Ind, for burial. GEORGE R. CARTER CONNERSVILLE, Ind., Dec. 14. George R. Carter, founder and head of the George R. Carter Leather company, who died at his home at 5 o'clock Tuesday afternoon, was buried in Daleview cemetery Thursday afternoon, after funeral services conducted at the house, by the Christian Science reader. Mr. Carter, who started in business in Williamsburg. Ohio, moved to Connersville, in 1903, when expansion of his factory made larger quarters necessary, and for years has been one of the most prominent and respected citizens of the town. He was a member of the country club, a dean and charter member of Kiwanis, and a Scottish Rite and Shrine member of the Masonic order, besides being interested in various other civic enterprises.
