MURRAY Oscar Wflde'a "A Woman of No Importance" la playing at the Murray theatre for three days. The picture is offered by the Select Pictures corporation which has been sending along the Elaine Hammerstein pictures, the Eugene O'Brien pictures, the Conway Tearle releases and such specials as "Reported Missing,'' starring Owen Moore, "A Man's Home and others of similar high calibre. A photopl with Oscar Wilde as Its author would seem to be entitled to special consideration In these days when strength of story is being stressed in the motion picture industry. Wilde is commonly spoken of as one of the ablest writers of the English language that have ever lived. His plays, novels and poems are known In every corner of the civilized world. "A Woman of No Importance," orig

inally written in play form, was pre

sented in London many years ago and

pince mat time mere naa never been a

minute that it was not being played in countless cities and towns In Englishspeaking countries. Its Introduction to America came when Hose Coghlan was at the zenith of her success and secured the play for presentation at Miner's Fifth Avenue theatre. New

type who, once befuddled with liquor, becomes a menace to the woman in hiB company; It is an almost perfect protrayal:

York city, with one of the greatest casts which has ever been assembled. MURRETTE WHllam de Mille has struck the key

note of today most happily In "Nice People" which 13 playing all week at the Murrette theatre. The modern jazz spirit which pervades our times as well as the possible remedy therefor, are clearly and most entertainingly depicted. - Without preaching In the least, the picture demonstrates that the girls and boys of today have too much leisure for indulgence in what may be easily developed Into harmful social relationships. The theme back of it stands out clearly throughout without intruding ltseli to the detriment of the story. Wallace Reid's role presents him In the light of a good Samaritan, his mental outlook cleansed of its possible previous acceptance of such things as the public accepts, as a result of

the great war. Bebe Daniels expresses

the product of the jazz age flawlessly

and her experience proves that those

who accept freedom up to a given
