Rev A. H. Backus, pastor of the local Grace Methodist church, created unusual interest in his Bunday morning sermon under the caption, "DoChristianizing Christmas." His test "R-as from Johp 11:66, "WTO He Not Come Up to the Feast?" in part .Mr.- Backus said: "Christmas and Christ should ever be united In holy wedlock. Christmas should b,e an ever-Increasing pageantry in honor of Jesus Christ, the , Kins, eternal, immortal, Invisible! "Frequently such Is not the case. Often the . occasion is elehrated in
such a manner as to lose sight of Mr : whose birthday it is. j "B'or this reason the Puritans refused to observe Christmas because of the Tricked mirth and revelry; ""What is the matter -with Christmas?
