CHRISTMAS CLEARING COMMITTEE TO OPEN OFFICE NEXT WEEK
Establishment of downtown beadquarters the first of the week is a part of the plan of -the Christmas ' clearing committee which ia endeavoring to work out a systematic plan for the distribution of Christmas gifts to needy families of the city, it was- announced Saturday. Christmas cheer gifts will be received -by the committee at . its headquarters, and the newspaper offices of the city also are receiving contributions of funds for' the committee. - Mrs. Paul Com-
stock is chairman of -the committeemen at the hospital The children.
and Albert Morel, of the Second Na tional bank, Is treasurer. That there must be a greater interest shown in the work of the committee on the part of local citizens, if the city is to do its duty in dispensing Christmas cheer to needy families here, is the belief of those in charge of the work. Although the treasurer has received a number of contributions, it is felt that a much larger fund should be raised if all of the needy families are to be cared Jor. It Is urged that all persons who care to give to the fund do -so at once in order to aid the committee in its work of preparation for the assembling of the materials to be included In the gifts. The Social Service bureau is making registration of all families who are to be - remembered by the commitee, and it is requested that all organizations wishing to give to certain fam--ilies list the names with the bureau in order that an accurate account may be kept and no duplications made in the distribution of the gifts.
