NOVEMBER WEATHER , . FAVORABLE TO FARM j WORKSAYS REPORT Farm work progressed satisfactorily under favorable weather conditions the first half of November, according
to the semi-monthly crop notes of the United States department of agriculture. Fall plowing and seeding of winter grains, however, have been backward In many sections due to drought and dry grounds. Early sown wheat Is generally looklog well while the late sown has been slow In coming up. In the central 7, est the top growth is short but fairly even. Recent rains are benefiting tne crop generally. Acreage of fall rye and barley has been increased in Tennessee. Wheat fields are being pastured in eastern Kansas. The acreage In Texas reported smaller than last . year. The fall crop of oats is
about sown in Texas and sowing is progressing elsewhere. The rice crop in the southern states Is all harvested. A large per cent has been thrashed with low yields general except in Texas. The husking of corn has made rapid progress and is practically completed in most sections. Much of the crop has been cribbed. Yields vary greatly although up to the average in most sections except in some southern states, where they are light. Quality is generally good, but is reported to be under the average in Texas. The crop is half out of the fields in Iowa and part of Missouri. A considerable portion is going to market. Livestock is reported in good condition as a rule with scattered cases of hog cholera. Cattle are generally in good flesh except In droughty areas in Kentucky, Texas and Oklahoma. Full feeding has begun in many sections and stocks of feed are generally ( ample. Range movement Is decreasing in South Dakota, but is still heavy in Montana where a shortage of cars Ftill exists. From Colorado and nearby states the marketing of cattle is still heavy partly due to lack of feed.
The supply of farm labor Is ample.
except in the Louisiana sugar district. In the Dakotas, Montana, Iowa, and
Missouri the roads are reported to be
in bad condition, retarding hauling. The snow has hindered the beet har
vest in Colorado and Utah and yields of beets and beans In Colorado are
said to be unsatisfactory.

For the benefit of those members of Post C who do not attend our meetings, the scribe wishes to inform them that our chaplain's name is the Rev. McClean Work, pastor of the Reid Memorial Presbyterian church. It will do all members good to make his acquaintance. Members of Post C who do not attend either the business or social meetings are sure missing something. It seems that in almost all associations a few of the members do most of the work. - We are glad to know that Post C has some good fellows whose activities in T. P.
