MARRIED WOMEN OF

lv GREAT BRITAIN FIGHT

FOR TEACHING JOBS

LONDON, Nor. 22. The light school teachers In the public schools of England which has been going on for some time reached a climax when 64 married women teachers were discharged from their duties in one of the London suburbs. During the war married women were

practically the only persons available

for teaching, and since then they have kept their jobs despite the efforts ot

many veterans associations to have

them expelled in order to allow ex

service men and nurses to .jsume

their positions.

An attempt was made recently to exclude marrietr women from teaching

in the schools of Middlesex county but

they were able to take the case to

Chancery Court, asking for an in-1

junction against the school autnori

'ties. The case still is pending. Ef

forts to have the married women ex

cluded from the schools under the

jurisdiction of the London County Council, however, have failed, and the Council has refused to pass a motion

to this effect.

One of the- unique features or tnis photoplay Is the satirical .titling, founded on Shakespeare's play, which was done by Will Rogers himself. The picture is one of the most humorous and cleanest photoplay comedies ever produced. WASHINGTON We have had strike breakers, trust busters, broncho busters and brute breakers; but now we have "The Ghost Breaker," a new form of hero which Wallace Reld is making popular in his new Paramount starring vehicle of the same name, which Manager Grnenewald announces as his feature attraction atthe Washington theatre Thursday, with Lila Lee, leading woman, and Walter Hlers featured with the star. AMUSEMENTS

MURRAY There seem to be no limits to the comedic possibilities latent in Will Rogers, the Goldwyn cowboy star. Each new photoplay in which he appears is more humorous than its predecessor. Besides, Will Rogers never seems to exhaust his supply of comic gestures, for each situation in which be finds himself, calls forth an original comic response. In his new Goldwyn picture, "Doubling for Romeo," which will be shown at the Murray theatre, for three days, beginning Thursday, Mr. Rogers portrays a cowboy lover whose sweetheart refuses to listen to his bashful lovemaking. She will have none other than the man who can make love like

a "movie" hero. Consequently, the cowboy lover goes to the "movies" to

learn how to make love. His exper-
