SPANISH TREASURE . SOUGHT BY BRITISH
GIRL DEEP SEA DIVER f (By Associated Preaa) LONDON, Oct 20. The profession of deep sea diving, -vrnich anyone .would classify as a calling particularly 'fitted for men, has been successfully i Invaded by woman. Margeret Naylor, an English girl, is acclaimed as one of the most "efficient and daring wearers of the helmet i British waters.
She has gained a wide reputation
during tne laBt two years, and more recently for her efforts in the recovery
of treasure from the sunken Spanish
galleon lying In 10 fathoms of water
near the shore of Mull, an Island off Scotland. There, In the cozy little harbor of Tobermory, and lees than 100 yards from the beach, lies one of the great treasure ships of the Spanish Armada. The boat was one of the many vesatSs launched by the ambitious Phillip, in 1588, for his attempted conquest of England. Sent Jewels Ahead. So certain was this monarch that he would add the British Isles to his already large domains, that he actually eent on his Jewelled regalia In adrance. It Is believed that the richly bejewelled crown Is lying somewhere In the 60 feet of water among the wreckage of the Admirante de Fkrencia, which Miss Naylor tias succeeded In negotiating. Although the task presents many problems which would cause anxiety to divers of the stronger sex. Miss Naylor shows no fear. She had one or two narrow escapes from death In the course of her experience; without being in any way deterred from tackling the risky business again. Miss Naylor recently made a trip to the southern coast of England and ob. tained somo excellent specimens of undersea plant life. She nearly lost her life when her feet became entangled In a ladder which she was using, and only her presence of mind enabled her to free herself and be hauled safely to the top.

MURRETTE Ethel Kay. who will be seen In one of the important roles in "Heroes and Husbands," a First National attraction starring Katherine MacDonald, which la playing at the Murrette theatre, is an actress of note who ha? played leading roles with such prominent stars as Norma Talmadge and Wilton Lackaye. Miss Kay came to the screen via
the popular but patience-trying "extra; girl" route, but she did not find it such a weari3ome way because from i the first day she appeared at a Fortj Lee, N. J. studio she wa3 singled out i by the director on account of her un
usual beauty, and when given an op
portunity to prove her- dramatic abil
ity she astonished everyone with her
apparent knowledge of camera tricks and the facility with which she ac
complished everything Bhe was called
upon to do.
No screen veteran had any advan
tage over this novice and within a month she was playing the sort of parts that are assigned to actresses of experience and proved skill, and playing them so well that it was not long before she was engaged to inter
pret the leading role in a large production. MURRAY Allan Dwan's newest comedy drama, "A Perfect Crime," at the Murray
now reveals the desirability of Indulg
ing In that great American pastime, pretending to be what you aren't. The hero, "Wally Griggs, is probably the greatest liar on record and with the aid of a little guff la transformed
from a timid bank messenger to a dominant humbug whose latest book on faked travels brings him a fortune
and of course a girl.
The picture opens up a new avenue
of escape and Is told in Allen Dwan's
best humorous vein. It has the same
effect upon an audience as those fa cinatlng ad3 which read, "How to dou
ble your salary in two months."
Folks leave the theatre with a firm
determination to quit being nobodies and to start right in being important. Wally Griggs, the hero of the story, is a grovelling bank messenger, awkward and despised for his timidity. Quite suddenly he decides to rob the bank. It is important to him that his little sister have the advantage which
the stolen money can eive her.
So Wally makes elaborate plans for
a robbery. He establishes another
Identity, removes his horn rim glasses, indulges in golf and fishing and forms
an attachment with the president of
the bank who is fascinated by his amazing stories of whiffenpoof hunts in Africa, The president thinks it i3
an amusing Joke that his new friend
bears such a startling resemblance to poor old Wally Griggs! And then one

Charles Olcott is a real "hit" We say that without fear of "suc
cessful contradiction," as the political speech-makers say.- Until one gets the "plot" in his little burlesque on "opera," one is not so sure how to
label him, (categorically speaking). Olcott's imitations on the piano have
never been excelled on the local stage to the writer's knowledge. Clever
ness combined with real mirth tantalising ingredients is the secret of
his products. Aerial artists who do more than entertain are to be found in the act by the Four Casting Campbells. Their performance provides genuine thrills. Joe and Elsie Farrell have a comedy offering of the variety very comonly presented in vaudeville, but still good for a number of laughs. Kurt and Edy the Keuhn hold first with a program of music and fun well mixed. "A Perfect Crime" is the film attraction. MARVIN.

In New York a savings bank account becomes dormant after 20 years, and
a trust or state bank account after five years. It then ceases to draw in
