was in the nature of a surprise for Mrs. John Schattell in honor of her birthday and anniversary. The after-

'noon was spent in needlework after which a luncheon was served by the hostess. The luncheon table held a ! centerpiece of dahlias in variegated colors. Tall white tapers in yellow candlesticks burned at each cover. A

birthday cake was before the guest of honor's place. Those present were: Mrs. Ray Kercheval, a. guest of the club, Mrs. Walter Snavely, Mrs. John Schattell, Mrs. Ray Meeks, Mrs. Jennie Fogel, Mrs. Edward Sharp, Mrs. Walter Murray, Mrs. George A. Finley school met Thursday afternoon,

members attended. An excellent program was given by groups of children from the different grades, each group appearing either in songs or recitation numbers. The association voted 15

Prof. Dexter, of Earlham college, gave a verv fine talk on "Conscience." The

association also appointed its presi

dents, Mrs. G. C. Wilcoxen, as its delegate to attend the state convention of

the P. T. A. in Indianapolis next week. The next meeting of the association will be an evening affair on the second Thursday in November, for fathers

and mothers of the echool children. Mrs. Wayne Koontz entertained Thursday afternoon at her home in

Reeveston. The afternoon was spent informally after which an oyster luncheon was served by the hostess. Covers were, laid for Mrs. John Lennard, Mrs. Will Farwig, Mrs.. Sullivan's Happy Six, of Springfield, O, which has been playing tho opening engagement at the new Dayton, O, dance palace, will play the program of dances. All former pupils of Mr. and Mrs. Kolp and persons who have attended their dances in the past may attend thi3 season.
