Operating on the same basis as the regular night school and home extension work of the Vocational department of the Richmond public schools, which is absolutely free to all of its students, a "Six Lesson Short Cour3e in Canning" will be started at the Den
nis Junior high school
Tuesday afternoon. The course will have four regular session days, one day at each of four school buildings, and will continue for six weeks, a lesson being given each week at each of the selected schools. Each period will be of two hours duration and the course is open to anyone who will make application to N. F. Fultz, vocational director. The four regular session days will be Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, a day being asigned to each school. The first lesson will be given Tuesday at the Dennis junior high school, and will be given again

A fine of $100 and costs and' 60 days at the penal farm were given Frank P. Robinson in police court Friday for the illegal transportation of liquor. Robinson was arrested Feb. 11 in Richmond while bringing liquor over the state line from Ohio, but jumped his bail of $1,000. He was arrested in Chicago where he had been living under an assumed name, and was brought back for trial. In police court he pleaded guilty to the charge. Fear of a penal farm sentence was responsible for his bail

MOSCOW, July 14. The campaign against the soviet regime in Bokhara, Turkestan and Khiva, headed by Enver Pasha, Turkish communist, is ending in disaster, according to advices to the Pravda. The Bokhara red army, assisted by
the Russians, defeated Enver's detachments near Bisum, and on July ,2 the pick of Enver's forces led by him, were defeated near Karatagh, losing more than 200 killed. After this disaster, Enver Is declared to have fled into the mountains with the remain' der of his army.
