a number of statutes may be taken during the two-day meeting of the In-j
dlana State Bar association according to officicera of the organization. The lawyers began their twenty-sixth annual session this afternoon at the Indianapolis Country club. An address by Charles M. McCabe of Crawfordsville, president of the association, and the reading of a paper by Theophilus J. Moll of the Marlon county superior court, were a part of the early program. The reading of the minutts of the 1921 meeting, admission of new members and reports of officers and committees completed the first session. A banquet was scheduled for the evening. J. M. Dill, attorney-general of Bermuda, will make the principal address of the meeting tomorrow, his subject belngr "The Colonial Development of the Common Law." Mr. Dill Is a well known English attorney. Other Speakers Another speaker on the program for the second day Is-Joseph H. Shea of Seymour, formerly ambassador to Chile, "South American Courts," will be the- subjtot of his address. James A. VanOsdol of Anderson, will talk on "Our Part." An election of officers will complete the program. The present officers of the Indiana State Bar association are Charles M. 175 BusinessWomen Picnic This Afternoon It is expected that about 175 business women will attend the picnic of the Virginia Asher Business Women's council which is to be held at Glen Miller park Tuesday evening.

ments, those who Intend to attend the picnic will meet at the Reid Memorial church and will leave Eighth and Main streets on the street car at 6:15 o'clock. A program consisting of community games and devotional exercises will be enjoyed. In case of rain the picnic will be held indoors at the Reid Memorial church.

FULTZ RESIGNS PLAGE AS VOCATIONAL HEAD
N. F. Fultz, vocational director of Richmond public schools, has resigned to take up new duties as vocational director of public schools at Cicero, 111., a suburb of Chicago. Mr. Fultz's resignation was accepted by the schools board at its meeting late Monday afternoon. Having been connected with the local schools fpr the past two years, Mr. Fultz had established himself as a very capable director of the vocational work of the schools. Mr. Fultz came to Richmond from Anderson, where he was vocational director, and with the Remy Electric company. He will leave Richmond shortly for a short vacation and will report to his new position Aug. 1. Mr. Fultz will retain his home in this city for the present. The school board signed th contracts for the general work on the East side school building. The contract for the plumbing work on the building will be awarded at the next meeting of the board.

FINED FOR SPEEDING Carl Niewoehner paid $1 and costs in police court Tuesday morning for running his car 35 miles an hour Monday afternoon.
FINED FOR CARRYING GUN The corner of Eighth and Main streets is a bad place to carry concealed weapons. As Robert Bush, (colored) was getting on a car, his gun was spotted, and Tuesday morning he paid $1 and costs in police court and had his gun confiscated.
GO AFTER ROBINSON Police officers early Tuesday morning left for Chicago to bring back to Richmond, Frank P. Robinson, who jumped his bond on a liquor charge in Richmond last winter. Robinson was living in Chicago under the name of Robinson and Towne, it was said, when he was picked up
by Chicago police. . On Feb. 11, he was arrested for transporting liquor, but was not tried. George Muey, who went on Robinson's bond, advanced the costs of bringing Robinson back to Richmond.
A California electrical corporation has a machine which digs holes for and sets 50 telephone poles a day.
