WHITEWATER, Ind., June 15. Building operations on the new $53,'00 school building at Whitewater have been started. This is the second addition to the Whitewater public school system since the erection of the original edifice in 1S94. The first additicn was provided for in 1912. Efforts were made to secure the new building last year, but the opposition to the necessary bond issue was too great for the successful culmination of the plan. This year, however, the bond issue of $53,000 was made possible and the contracts execpted. The building was made necessary by the urgent demand for additional class rooms, but the plans also provide for a large auditorium which may be used as a gymnasium.
