ANNUAL NATIONAL
DUNKARD MEETING CLOSES SESSIONS
' EATON, Ohio, June 7. With a business session from 10 o'clock in the morning until 3 o'clock in the -afternoon, with an hour's recess at noon, the annual national convention of the Old Order Dunkards came to a close Tuesday, after having opened last Saturday on the Jesse Brubaker farm, three miles southeast of Baton. Matters relating to alleged violation of the church laws by congregations and individuals were presented !n open meeting by a standing committee of 12 elders. Within the hearing of 3,000 or more members and general public, assembled in the tabernacle tent, the complaints and charges were read. Some of these were tabled and will be referred back to the churches from whence they came.

Discuss Owning Bonds. A query relating to the owning of non-taxable bonds elicited extended discussion In the business session. The feeling and spirit of the meeting was that owners of suh bonds should pay tax upon them and thereby lessen the load of the brother less financially fortunate. Elder Michael Montgomery, of Missouri presided as foreman at the business session. Elder Isaac P. Stitly, of Maryland, was reading clerk, and Elder John D. Benedict, of Pennsylvania, was writing clerk. The three

Indiana will entertain the 1823 national conference, it was announced just before the close of the confer-, ence. A locating committee will select the place after viewing and considering the sites offered. Save for worship at 6:30 in the morning, no preaching services were conducted Tuesday, the day being given over to the disposition of business
affairs, etc.. of the church. Song ana . prayer closed the business session and the conference. Taking down the tabernacle tent was started soon after. It and a large dining tent are property of the conference organization and they will be shipped to the meeting place next year after it is selected. The national conference of Old Order Dunkards was held in Preble county 25 years ago on the, Furrey farm, about two miles northeast of the site upon which it was held this year, and about 15 years ago at Eldorado. Begin Leaving Conference At the close of the conference Tuesday afternoon delegates and members began leaving or preparing to leave for thir homes. They hail from Ohio, Indiana, Illinois, Missouri, Kansas, North Dakota, Michigan, Pennsylvania, Virginia and Maryland. One d,eath took place during the conference, Elder Jonathan Cool of Darke county, having died suddenly Monday night in the home of Emanuel Aukerman, a mile east of the conference site, where he was a guest for the night.
He died while seated in a chair con- ' versing with other guests in the home. MApoplexy w,as assigned as the cause of death. Mrs. Cool was at the home of Edward Denlinger as a guest for the nieht. and where she received word of
the death of her husband. The body was removed Tuesday morning to the decedent's home, near Greenville. Elder Cool was about 65 years old.

Felix Diaz has collected 30,000 followers on the Guatemalan border and is prepared to march into Mexico and proclaim himself president of Mexico in opposition to President Obregon's government. Friends of the Obregon regime say that such a coupe by Diaz, if successful, would mean a return to the militaristic monarchy which prevailed under Portfirio Diaz for thirty years or more.

Hinshaw was given a hearing before
Mayor Ross for violating the Volstead law. Late Saturday night, Ross and Garrett, policemen, captured a grip in a livery barn containing a gallon of "white mule," bearing Hinshaw's name on the bottles. Hinshaw's statement brought out the fact that he purchased the liquor south of Union City, about four miles on the Jackson pike from an unknown man. He also said he was in company with Fred Davis, in the Davis machine. Davis was brought ., into court but claimed he was only acting as a taxi driver and did not know the man who sold the liquor. Hinshaw was found guftty and assessed .a fine of '$100 and was given a sentence of 60 days at the penal farm. Leon Alexander appeared before Judge A. L. Bales in the circuit court
and pleaded guilty to a charge or selling liquor to Lester lliatt. The court fined Alexander $100 and gave him a sentence of 90 days at the state penal wvfaim. The sentence was suspended. Two thousand pigeons were liberated at the Big Four railroad station today. They were sent from Cleveland, Ohio, and belong to the different or conizations of that city. Judge A. L.
