IN BILLY'S SERMON A friend of mine was preaching in a town and he stepped up to a man who was an engineer of one of the Overland trains and he said, "Are you a Christian?" He said, "I have to leave here In ten minutes, I pull the Overland limited." "Well," he said, '"You don't need ten minutes to get right with God." He said, "Do you mean to tell me It doesn't take that long?" He said, "Come on with me." He came. up and got down on his

Wonderful , means something out

He inherited the nature of God and of,

man. He came to be the prince of Princes and the King of Kings, and yet His birth was not looked forward to with the glad expectation as is the case when a child is to be born in a royal household. There was no room for Him in the inn, so He was cradled in the manger, sad yet the angels proclaimed His birth with joy, and the humble shepherds as they watched their flocks, heard the angels sing "glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward man." That is how much interest heaven took in a birth in a manger. Comes In Humble 'Manner. Mark how He might have come. He mieht have come with all the Domp

And all we see today is the outgrowth of something else. The first railway cars looked like the old stage coaches, and the first automobiles looked like carriages. The first miracle that He performed was not before a gaping, wondering crowd to satisfy their curiosity, but to save a peasant's wife from humiliation when at the wedding feast He turned the water into wine. He had compassion on the multitudes but none on Himself. He wept for

i Jerusalem but not for Himself. That

is the Jesus Christ, "His name shall be called Wonderful." - Let's see if anything that He did justifies the prophet in saying 200 years before His mother gave Him birth in the manger, "His name shall be called Wonderful." Teaches Wonderful Lesson His teaching was wonderful, and the way He taught was wonderful, and what He taught was wonderful. He taught that He was greater than Moses. Imagine the audacity of a man standing before a crowd of Jews and saying, "I am greater than Moses." Imagine the audacity of a man standing before a crowd of Americans and saying, "I am greater than George Washington!" How long would we stand for that? That is what Jesus dfd. He said, "I' am greater than Moses" or "I am the one that Moses was talking about." What He taught was wonderful and the way He taught it was wonderful. He said. "I fulfill the law of Moses. I am fulfilling all of that. Here I am, the One." Now, then, He made no proof, no effort to prove His claims. He said, "I am the Son of God." They said, "We do not believe it," and all He did was to point to His works.

That is all the evidence I need. You needn't present anything more to me. That is proof that He was the Son of God to me all through. "His name shall be called Wonderful." Teaches Equality With God He taught that He was equal with God. He said, "I am equal with God,

There is no man or woman on earth that has power to forgive sins. We can tell people about God and God can forgive sins," but no man on earth can forgive sins. It is an infamous and damnable slander! Nobody on earth can do it; but God alone can do it. I can urge you to repent and turn to God, but I can't forgive you. He said, "I am come that they might have life."
