College Students Form

St. Patrick's Society

(By Associated Press)

NEW YORK, May 11. Engineering students in the universities of the middlewest have formed an Intercollegiate

society known as Knights of the Guard of St. Patrick with an insignia consisting of a green shamrock crossed by a gold slide rule and the word "Engineers", according to the American Society of Engineers. The adoption of St. Patrick as the patron saint of engineers, according to the announcement, resulted from a student prank at the University of Mis

souri, in 1903. During the excavations

for the new engineering annex an old

marble slab bearing a faded inscription was uncoverd. The students sajd the inscription read "Erin Go Bragh,"

which, freely translated, meant "St.4

Patrick was an Engineer," They then declared March 17 as a holiday and the movement soon spread through other schools. In 1919 representatives from all the universities met and organized the present society.

Have you called for that free 10-cent package your druggist has for you? Remember it will cost you real money after this week! 4 THE reason why a dentifrice should contain mild fruit acids is really very simple. The natural saliva of the mouth is alkaline that is, opposite from acid. Nature makes it so in order to overcome the dangerous acids of fermentation that cause tooth decay. These destructive acids form in the starchy, sugary plaques that cling , to the teeth and ferment. Moreover, starchy foods so common to modern diets discourage saliva flow and handicap Nature in protecting your teeth in her own way. A fruit acid dentifrice causes the , saliva glands to work overtime nd bathe the teeth with alkaline saliva. .
