SAFETY RULES ARE SHOWN 111 HIBBERD
The first grade of Hlbberd school made a plan for Safety week. On a table they marked off all the streets around the school house with chalk, on a table. Then they made houses and also the school house out of paper. Some boys brought some automobiles and they put them in the streets. They also made some signs that said, "School Zone Drive Slow." Then they set their houses on the table where they belonged. Soms boys and glrla made of paper were shown standing on the corner waiting for an automobile to go past. The table Was then set out in the yard. Some of the first grade boys and girls stood behind the table and the fourth grade teacher took their picture. Helen Thomas, reporter for Hibberd school.
Corner Stone Laid Children to Sing The new St. John's school, is

MOORE VEGETABLE GARDEN Children in the kindergarten and first grade of Joseph Moore school were to plant their vegetable garden this week. They wanted to plant beans, peas, onions, radishes and lettuce.

EAST MAIN FRIENDS NOW LEAD LEAGUE
Teams of the Junior Sunday school basketball league are rounding up their season's work under the direction of Mr. Speeht, physical director of the Y. M. C. A.,
there being only one more series of : games to play and these will be
played off Tuesday afternoon. May 2. . At present, the East Main street Friends quintet stands at the head of the group of teams with no lost games marked against its standing. The First Presbyterian team is now holding second place. Each team has played fourteen games, and some have played sixteen. The final games to be played on Tuesday, are: Grace M. E. vs. East Main street Friends; First Baptist vs. First M. E.; South Eighth Street Friends vs. St. Paul's Lutheran; First English Lutheran vs. St. Paul's Lutheran. Photo by Bundy Robert Ranck ter and the breeding pig clubs this year in junior club work. Last fall bis pig, named Daisy, took first prize in the county exhibit. It wa3 also exhibited in the State show in Indianapolis, where it was selected as one of the group of pigs from which the prize winners were selected. Robert received the silver Palladium cup which was offered to the winner in the Chester White group. He also had the best record book among last year's Wayne club members. Robert is twelve years old and the son of Mrs. Ellen Ranck, of Centerville.

Musical Program for Art Exhibit
One hundred and ten visitors attended the opening of the Junior Art exhibit, Sunday afternoon, April 23, from 2 to 5 o'clock, in the Public Art gallery. Directors and members of the Richmond Art association were given special invitation to be present. The exhibit, though smaller than the one held by the Junior Art association last year, is said to be of higher quality in many respects. The exhibit is being held under the sponsorship of Miss Florence Williams. Early in the afternoon, the following program was given by a string quartet composed of Janice Smith, Marcia Dennis, Emily Roberts and Harold Roberts, assisted by Mrs. Dempsey Dennis, soprano, and Helen Eichorn, pianist: "Meditation" B.
