BELL, OF RISING SUN, NEW SUPERINTENDENT OF LIBERTY SCHOOLS
LIBERTY, Ind., April 26. B. C. Bell of Rising Sun, has been employed to fill the vacancy in the superintendency of the Liberty and Center township schools. Supt. Lee O. Snook, who has served In this capacity for 13 years, will locate in western Iowa where he takes charge of a large consolidated system comprising 25 sections. Mr. Snook and family will take up their residence there some time in August. Mr. Bell has been at the head of the Rising Sun schools for two years. His work will begin here In June. Memory Contest May 19 The Music Memory Contest for Center township schools will take place at the Stanley building on the evening of Friday, May 19, according to present plans. Suitable prizes will be given the winners, the money for the purchase of the same wil be made at a combined glee club and orchestra concert at some near date. Miss Bartlett, music Instructor, has been working faithfully on the music memory program, and the pupils of the township have manifested a great deal of Interest in it. Commencement Soon The Liberty high school commencement exercises will be held soon, according to present plans. School Celebration The schools will celebrate In a fitting manner the hundredth anniversary of the birth of U. S. Grant Thursday morning at the chapel hour. It will be a combined program, grade and high school children participating. State Examination Saturday The state examination for the second eemester will be given at the assembly room of the high school building next Saturday, April 29. All high school pupils of unclassified schools are expected to be present. Julius Caesar Film On May 5 the feature film, "Julius Caesar," will be presented at the Stan ley building. This is the last of three special productions sponsored by the high school and bearing directly on school work. To Be Guests Supt. and Mrs. Lee O. Snook are to be the gueats of the Center township teachers at a 7 o'clock dinner at, the home of the Misses Gilmore on Saturday evening. Refits Old Shop Lou Harrell has refitted his shop at his old stand three doors east of the postoffice, and will again conduct a general blacksmithing business. C I 1 ouDurDan WEBSTER, Ind.
