WHO'S WHO AND WHAT'S HAPPENED Richard Brabant, a successful young lawer, has given a year's leave of absence to his wife, Sally, hoping that she will be changed from a butterfly to a woman ;' by learning something of life. She meets Keith Gilbert, always labelled "Dangerous." and through him associates with New York's gaj'est crowd of celebrities: among them, le Craig, a pretty artist, and Graham Browne, a well-known financier. The gay life that Sally leads Is not aDDroved bv her friend.
Barbara Lane, an old-fashioned wife, but Is shared by Patricia Lioring, a modern flapper, who resents th fact that Gilbert is madly in love with Sally as she wants him for herself. With Sally she goes to a house-party at Gilbert's country place, and Is there when revenue officers appear to arrest Gilbert on a charge of bootleeging on a big scale, and be- - cause one of his men has killed an officer during a fight. Gilbert flees into the night, taking Sally with him, and tries to kidnap her, but she is rescued by Xeal Calhoun, who is trailing Gilbert. Gilbert accuses Sally of betraying him to Calhoun and vows vengeance. He is imprisoned, but escapes. Sally goes with Barbara 1-ane and her husband. Andrew, to a house-party at the Randalls'. At the country club there she meets Gilbert, who goes under an assumed name, and is looking for her.

FLIRTATION As she entered the living room of the country club, Sally looked about anxiously; it had occurred to her that possibly Gilbert might not be there after all. He might have been arrested again, or might have decided that it would be wiser to gain his ends ia some other manner. That he would abandon his purpose to see her she

And you must admit that your husband would never have gone off as he has, humiliating you by preferring his secretary " It was that mention of Dick that brought her to her senses. She looked
up at him with wide, daed eyes, as if awaking from a dream. Then abruptly she jerked her hands from his grasp. "I think I must have been mad to listen to you as I have," she told him.

Heart Problems
Dear Mrs. Thompson: I hav been going with a certain girl for two years off and on. During that time I have had three diferent girls. I did not realize how much I cared foi the girl mentioned until she told me the other day that she was going to move to a town some distance from here. Now I realize that I love her and I will be absolutely lost when I can't be with her any more. If I had enough money I would ask
her to marry me right away and not leave at all, but unfortunately I , hav been out of work for some time now and I am in no position to marry. Do you think the girl would respect me if I told her I loved her and asked her to become engaged? I don't want to lose my chances. RUDOLPH. Rudolph It would be perfectly all right to tell the girl you love her and that you would ask her to marry you now. If you were able. Ask her if she willing to become engaged now. '

Hies ot the countryside, ana wnen iuichased by the club, some 50 years before, its stately furnishings had been let intact. The result was both charming and unique, setting the club apart from even the most expensive of the newer clubhouses, and making even the nouveau riche of its membership list feel that they belonged among the first families. Tonight the long ballroom, with its gleaming crystal chandeliers and mirrored walls, threw the crowd into vivid silhouette against its white panelled walls. It was a gay crowd as well as a brilliant one. The members of a house-party, returning late from a drag hunt, appeared in their riding clothes, the women slight and boyish looking in coats and trousers, the men in the vivid scarlet coats that became most of them surprisingly well. A ..group of hilarious young" people in "somewhat bedraggled white linen and sneakers, returning late from a sail, arrived shouting with laughter and immediately repaired to one of the wide verandas, where they could toddle to their hearts' delight far removed from the disapproving eyes of the dowagers. And the others, more conventionally clad, gave to the mirrors a shifting, colorful pageant, carried along by the beating rythm of the music. As the old grandfather's clock in the hall tolled off the hours, Sally grew happier; she told herself that Keith Gilbert must, have been governed by
an unprecedented wave of common sense, or that something had occurred to prevent his coming to the club. ' And then he came, shortly after mid- J night. He danced with the girl who i had Introduced him to Sally that!

Cocoanut Oil Fine For Vashing Hair
If you want to keep your hair in good condition, be careful what you wash it with. Most soaps and prepared shampoos contain too much alkali. This dries the scalp, makes the hair brittle, and is very harmful. Mulsified cocoanut oil shampoo (which is pure and entirely greaseless), is much better than anything else you can use for shampooing, as this can't possibly injure the hair. Simply moisten your hair with water and rub it in. One or two teaspoonfuls of Mulsified will make an abundance of rich, creamy lather, and cleanses the hair and scalp thoroughly. The lather rinses out easily and removes every particle of dust, dirt, dandruff and excessive oil. The hair dries quickly and evenly, and it leaves it line and silky, bright, fluffy and easy to manage. You can get Mulsified cocoanut oil rhampoo at most any drug store. It is very cheap, and a few ounces is enough to last everyone in the family
for months.Be sure your druggist gives you Mulsified. advertisement. ItwiiititiiiutiiittiiiimtiiHiitiiiiittittiiinitiiiimHHiiiittimHiiiiifiiiHimtHilliMm
