MURRAY VAUDEVILLE "What's The Idea," the two-act comedy playing at the Murray this last half by the Henry Roquemore musical comedy company, is more lavish, and better played than the first comedy

the first half, "Hello, Pansy." , Songs and costuming indicate better taste. The little skit centers about the finding of a woman boot-legger with a peculiar "beauty epot." The show is composed of 18 people, mostly girls, who take part in singing and dance numbers at intermissions in the piece. Fred Faunteroy, La Vera Reao, Brandeaux and Smith, and Fern Emmitt lead the company. Conway Tearle in "Shadows of the Sea," is the film attraction. MARVIN.

RICHMOND The consistently large audiences at the Richmond theatre this week are learning in a most forceful manner just what constitutes the solution to that most enigmatic phrase, "Her Husand's Trademark," this being the title of Gloria Swanson's latest Paramount picture. The trademark in this case is a gorgeously-dressed wife. The husband is not wealthy, but hopes to attain wealth by making a show of wealth. However, a mutual friend of both hus

band and wife, returns after gaining

wealth and greatness, falls in love with

the wife, and the husband, to promote

selfish, financial ends, rather encour

ages the romance. This situation culminates in a very powerful climax in Mexico, where, after a thrilling fight

with bandits, the husband is killed and

the two lovers find the triumph of their

righteous, unselfish love.

Stuart Holmes plays the husband

MURRAY Conway Tearle in a spectacular screen play is being featured at the Murray theatre in the star's new Selznick picture, "Shadows of the Sea." As Captain Dick Carson, soldier of fortune whose rovihgs keep him mainly at sea, Mr. Tearle is said to have a part that provides unusual opportunities for hia dramatic talents. The story is by Frank Dazey and direction was by Alan Crosland. An exceptionally strong supporting cast includes lovely Doris Kenyon as leading woman; Arthur Houseman as the. cad; Crawford Kent as the captain's mate; Jack Drumier as the dere

euch is not the case in the circus world. The horse is still the king of thearena in the big tent shows, and the astute circus manager realizes this even more than the. public does. The John Robinson show, the oldest big circus, which again , presents itself to Richmond, has an enviable reputation for its horses, most of which are western bred, and have been raised largely for exhibition purposes. There are several hundred of them, and they range from the heaviest draft horses to the finest and most aristocratic racing stock. The real mission of the horse in the John Robinson circus is for exhibitlonal purposes in the big preliminary Btreet parade in the opening spectacle, and in an unusual number of high class
